Tentacool’s red spots look like rubies, but are soft and jellylike. Shoals of them on the water’s surface during a sunset or sunrise are a brilliant sight. Sailors use their soft red glow to navigate at night, since they don’t move around much.

Buoys warning of danger are crafted to look like Tentacruel, so even marine Pokémon know to avoid them. While the underside is bad news, the top of a Tentacruel makes a soft and comfortable perch for watergoing Trainers.
