By the time the patent on Porygon expired, it was revealed that its source code had been lost for a decade. Efforts to reverse-engineer it have met with great difficulty.

Once a Porygon2 gets into cyberspace, it disappears in the first direction that sparks interest. While most will reappear back within a week, some Porygon2 have been found wandering the far reaches of the internet years after their Trainers last saw them.

The Dubious Disc is illegal to copy, as it’s filled with glitches and possible malware. Silph Co has posted a 200,000₽ bounty to figure out who made the device. It still pops up here and there, especially in organizations that desire Porygon-Z’s “creative” accounting skills.
