Mareanie hide themselves in the sand when they see predators or humans, disguised as a blue sea flower. If a swimmer accidentally steps on a Mareanie, Mareanie will grab hold of their leg and refuse to let go. It takes the force of a crowbar to loosen its grasp.

Gastrodon is the only known Pokémon that chooses to prey on Toxapex. The pink ooze that comes out of Gastrodon when it is injured dilutes the poisons in Toxapex’s tentacles, but it’s still a harsh gamble.
