If your electric bill is suspiciously high, check for Joltik infestation. To get rid of a Joltik infestation, borrow an Electric-Type and walk it around the house. The Joltik will all attach themselves to your Pokémon, which can then be taken outside and shaken free.

Galvantula’s web is nearly invisible in tall grass, but less so in caves and other biomes. Trainers in Unova often wear rubber-soled shoes just in case. If a wandering Krookodile sees the web, it bites the electric trap intentionally and waits for Galvantula to show up.
