Blipbug is one of the few Pokémon who can learn to read. Gardeners who want to get rid of Blipbug can trap them by putting up a sign with long rambling text. The Blipbug will stop and refuse to move until they’ve gotten to the end.

If Dottler thinks an opponent approaches, it puts up invisible barriers to guide the Pokémon elsewhere. If the Pokémon finds Dottler anyway and battles, it adds a week to Dottler’s evolution time. Trainers can overcome this delay by reading poetry to Dottler for two hours a day.

Orbeetle’s wings are vestigial, left over from an age when its psychic powers were weak. The elytra have adapted into wells of psychic power. Galarian entymologists have an unofficial betting pool on whether Orbeetle’s wings will also repurpose themselves, or simply atrophy.
